Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to ask more information regarding the proposals for the new sports ground on the former Civil Service Sports Ground. I did not know of the meeting at St.Marks School on 21 May until afterwards, I would liked to have attended.
My Wife and I own and live above Thai 2 Go takeaway at 203 Shirley Road on Foyes Corner. We have a 9 year old son who attends Freemantle Academy. We are very interested and excited to see what is going to happen with this site and when it is going to be developed.
I have seen the plans online and I would like to suggest that a cricket pitch and pavilion be included. I used to watch my father play cricket for Southampton Post Office at the Civil Service Sports Ground close to St.Marks School. Later I myself used to play cricket there too. There was also a small pavilion close to Suffolk Road. In the Summer it would be great to watch cricket here again.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours faithfully
Vernon Needham
