I went to a public meeting tonight at the United Reform Church in Shirley Road. The meeting was to discuss the future of the former Civil Service Sports Ground.
Despite being a cold, wet night, there was a really good turn out.
Cevn Vibert from the Freemantle and Shirley Residents' Association ran the meeting and spoke passionately about building a community hub on the site.

The headmistress of St Marks School and Andrew Hind, head of education at the City Council, were there and talked about idea of a new community school being built on the site.
It was an extremely positive and well informed meeting.
The next meeting of the Community Association is at St Marks school on 7th March.
