On Monday the Lib Dem Executive will rubber stamp its budget proposals ahead of the Council's budget meeting on 15th February. The Liberals are proposing a 3.88% increase in Council Tax. With inflation at 2.4% this one and a half times the rate of inflation. Conservative proposals will be released after Tuesday. Our budget will not propose an increase in Council Tax above the rate of inflation. A recent survey conducted by Conservative Councillors found that 95% of people preferred a Council Tax increase of under 2%.
